Groove your Way to Survival!

Disco Mania is a 2D hypercasual action-survival game in which the player makes their way onto a collapsing dance floor, and are tasked with surviving as long as possible  using a mace-like weapon at their disposal (with a disco ball for its sharp end!) , all while fending off musical enemies. 

Features: 

• Fast-paced, chaotic gameplay. 
• Players possess a mace-like weapon to aid with eliminating three distinct types of enemies, all disguised as musical notes. 
• Players also have access to three different types of powerups they can obtain by eliminating enemies to further aid in their survival. 
• Beware of the collapsing floor underneath! The tiles on the dance floor will shatter periodically, dealing damage should the player step on them. 

Controls: 

• Mouse Drag - Move the player around. 
• Left Click Hold - Swing Mace. 

This game was developed for the DevFest 4.0 game jam, in which we were tasked with creating a playable game in 48 hours using atleast one from the following 5 themes: 

1. Everything Falls Apart 
2. Stuck Together 
3. Handle with Care 
4. Invisible Connections 
5. The Sound of Silence 

We chose to incorporate two of the aforementioned themes for our game. These are as follows: 

1) Everything Falls Apart - The tiles of the dance floor will shatter periodically, dealing damage over time to the player should they step on them. 

2) Stuck Together - The player is bound to the Mace at all times, i.e., they have access to the weapon for the entire duration of the game. Players can hold the left mouse button to swing the mace, dealing damage and eliminating nearby enemies.
