Cube Comrades

Help Bluey and Reddy escape the Dungeon! 

- Cube Comrades is a 2D sidescroller platformer where you take control of 2 adorable cubes named Bluey and Reddy. Switch between the two of them and use the pressure plates to change their sizes in order to solve puzzles and navigate the levels! 

Features: 

• Strategic gameplay. 
• Step on Pressure plates in order to change the cubes' sizes to solve puzzles and proceed through the level! 
• Beware of deadly hazards littering the dungeon! Stepping on these will eliminate poor Bluey and Reddy. 

Controls: 

• A - Move Left 
• D - Move Right 
• Spacebar - Jump 
• Tab - Switch Cube 

This game was made for the DevFest 3.0 Game Jam hosted by Developer's Society, BITS Pilani, Goa, where we were tasked with incorporating 2-3 themes out of a list containing 6 themes. 

We decided to incorporate the following 2 themes: 

1. Stuck Together 
2. Size Matters 

Our game satisfies the aforementioned themes in the following ways: 

1. Stuck Together - Since there are two characters at play, players are required to actively switch between the two cubes according to the level and the challenges it presents to the player. Players are essentially forced to take control of both the cubes in order to successfully solve puzzles and make it towards the end of the level. 

2. Size Matters - This is where the core mechanic of adjusting sizes comes into play. Players can take control of a cube and stand on top of Pressure Plates scattered throughout the level in order to increase/decrease their size. They must be strategic, since the cubes' sizes will indeed matter when traversing through puzzles and avoiding hazards that can potentially end the player's run.
